Penggemar games sebentar lagi akan dapat menikmati konsol game generasi terbaru keluaran Sony. PlayStation 4 (PS4) yang merupakan generasi terbaru dari Playstation 3 ini diberi nama Orbis.

Nama Orbis di PlayStation 4 ini dari bahasa latin yang berarti lingkaran atau cincin. Pemakaian nama PlayStation 4 (PS4) dengan Orbis ini, menunjukkan bahwa generasi konsol Playstation berikutnya kemungkinan mempunyai bentuk desain yang melingkar. Orbis merupakan salah satu awalan URL untuk jaringan pengembangan Sony bersama dengan Next Generation Portable (NGP), PS3 dan Vita.

Playstation 4 (PS4) Orbis di Luncurkan

PlayStation 4 (PS4) ini kemungkinan diluncurkan ke pasaran pada musim liburan 2013. Foxconn dan pegatron, perusahaan spesialis pembuatan komponen hardware, telah membuat kesepakatan dengan sony untuk membuat 20 juta konsol PlayStation 4 atau PS4 ini.

Ada kabar lagi yang menyebutkan bahwa PlayStation 4 (PS4) Orbis ini tidak bisa memainkan game PS3. Pemain games harus membeli permainan baru lagi melalui akun PSN mereka. Dan, pemain games harus mengaktifkan dulu game mereka melalui online. Tapi ini hanya rumor.

Playstation 4 (PS4) Orbis, Games 3D Resolusi & Speed Tinggi

Playstation 4 (PS4), kabarnya juga akan dilengkapi dengan fitur full-body motion control technology, yaitu sebuah fitur yang sudah digunakan oleh Microsoft Kinect unit.
Kabar yang beredar juga mengungkap bahwa konsol Playstation 4 (PS4) ini akan mengusung teknologi dari AMD. Playstation 4 (PS4) ini didukung AMD X64 CPU dan dan Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) Southern Islands yang berbasis kartu grafis Radeon HD 7000 series. Dengan komposisi CPU dan GPU tersebut, memungkinkan Playstation 4 (PS4) ini bisa menampilkan display game 4096 x 2160 pixels. Dibandingkan dengan PS3 yang hanya dapat menampilkan 3D 720p, Playstation 4 (PS4) Orbis justru bisa memainkan game 3D hingga 1080p.
